The karunajyotish.com website and the Karuna Jyotish App

This text is an English translation provided for convenience. The Ukrainian version published on the website is the governing one; in case of any discrepancy, the Ukrainian version prevails.

1. General provisions

This Policy sets out how personal data of users of the karunajyotish.com website and the Karuna Jyotish App is collected, used, stored, transferred and protected.

The controller of personal data is the individual entrepreneur Kyrylo Molodetskyi (the "Provider"). Processing is carried out in accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On Personal Data Protection".

The website and the app share a single user account, so this Policy applies to both services. Account and synchronisation features are available in the app starting from version 1.1.

By using the website or the app, creating an account, placing an order or otherwise providing personal data, the User confirms that they have read this Policy and consent to the processing of their personal data on the terms set out below.

2. Two modes of app operation

Without an account. Calculations are performed on the User’s device. Birth details entered are used only for the current calculation and are not saved: after the app is closed, the chart has to be built again. Journal entries, wellbeing ratings, the selected city and appearance settings are stored in the device memory. This information is not transmitted to our servers and is not accessible to us.

Reference lookups are an exception: when a city is searched, its name is sent, and when a time zone or a city name is determined from coordinates, the coordinates themselves are sent to the external reference services listed in section 8. These services process the request at the moment it is made; the User’s account and saved data are not shared with them.

With an account. After signing in, saved astrological charts and journal entries are stored both on the User’s device and on our server, which provides access to them from other devices and on the karunajyotish.com website.

3. Legal basis for processing

Personal data is processed on the following grounds:

• consent of the data subject;
• necessity for the performance of a contract (public offer) to which the User is a party;
• necessity for the Provider to comply with obligations under the laws of Ukraine, in particular tax law (issuing and sending fiscal receipts).

Consent is given by registering an account, placing an order, submitting a request, or otherwise voluntarily providing personal data through the website or the app.

4. What personal data is collected

When registering an account on the website:

• email address;
• first name;
• last name;
• password, stored only as a cryptographic hash and not recoverable.

When signing in with Google or Apple:

We receive from the respective service the email address, name and an identifier issued by that service. The password to the User’s Google or Apple account is not disclosed to us.

When signing in with Apple, the User may choose to hide their email address. In that case we receive a relay address in the form ...@privaterelay.appleid.com, and Apple forwards messages to the User’s real email. An account created with such an address is a separate account and is not merged with an account previously created using the real address.

Data saved by the User in their account:

• astrological charts: chart name or label, date, time and place of birth together with geographic coordinates, favourite markers, and details entered during rectification;
• journal entries: events, notes and wellbeing ratings linked to dates.

The ratings of energy, mood, calmness and wellbeing that the User records in the journal constitute health data. They are entered solely at the User’s discretion and are processed on the basis of their consent, expressed by the very act of making such entries. This data is used only to display the User’s own entries and charts to them; we do not analyse it, do not use it for advertising and do not share it with third parties. The User may delete individual entries or the entire journal at any time.

When submitting a request for a consultation or training:

• first name;
• last name;
• email address;
• messenger handle or other contact details;
• the text of the message.

When making a payment:

We do not receive or store bank card details. Payments on the website are processed by the monobank payment service; payments in the app are processed by the App Store or Google Play. On our side we store only:

• the fact that a payment was made;
• the payment amount;
• the selected plan or service;
• the subscription status, its validity period and the purchase identifier.

To issue a fiscal receipt, the payment amount, the service description and the User’s email address are transferred to the "Vchasno.Kasa" service.

Location:

The app can determine the current location of the device. This happens only on the User’s direct action, when they tap the button to detect their city, and only if permission has been granted in the operating system settings. The coordinates obtained are used to determine the city name and the time zone and, for that purpose, are transmitted to the reference services listed in section 8.

The app does not track movement in the background and does not keep a location history. If the User uses the detected coordinates as a place of birth and saves the chart to their account, those coordinates are stored as part of the chart. Location permission may be revoked at any time in the device settings; the app remains functional and the city can be selected manually.

Technical data:

• selected interface language;
• time zone;
• the city entered by the User for calculations;
• appearance settings.

5. Subscriptions and purchases

Subscription purchases in the app are handled by the app store — the App Store or Google Play — in accordance with its own policy.

A subscription purchased in the application may include a free trial period of 7 days. The terms of the trial and of the subsequent automatic renewal are set out in the Public Offer.

Subscriptions are managed using RevenueCat, Inc., which processes the account identifier, the purchase identifier and information about the purchase status.

The list of services available under a subscription on the website and in the app is stated on the relevant order page.

6. PDF generation and calendar access

PDF documents are generated on the User’s device. Any further handling of the resulting file is performed by the User using their own device. The app does not send these files to us or to third parties.

The app can add astrological events to the device calendar and read events from it — only upon the User’s direct action and with the corresponding permission granted. From the events it reads, the app uses the title, date, time and description; these are shown in the app’s journal. If the User is signed in, this information is stored on our server together with other journal entries for synchronisation across devices. The app does not read event locations or attendee lists. Calendar contents are not shared with third parties. The permission may be revoked at any time in the device settings.

7. Purposes of processing

Personal data is used solely for:

• creating and maintaining the user account;
• providing access to paid services;
• storing and synchronising the data saved by the User between the website and the app;
• providing consultations and training services;
• communicating with the User and responding to enquiries;
• sending service notifications and restoring access to the account;
• complying with the tax legislation of Ukraine.

Personal data is not sold, is not transferred to third parties for marketing purposes, and is not used to advertise third-party services.

8. Transfer of personal data to third parties

To operate the service, certain personal data may be transferred to the following services:

• monobank — payment processing on the website;
• App Store and Google Play — payment processing in the app (Apple, Google);
• RevenueCat, Inc. — management of subscriptions purchased in the app (policy);
• "Vchasno.Kasa" — issuing and sending fiscal receipts;
• Resend — sending service emails: registration confirmation, password recovery, payment notifications;
• OpenStreetMap Foundation, the Nominatim service — searching for a city by name and determining a city name from geographic coordinates;
• timeapi.io and worldtimeapi.org — determining the time zone from geographic coordinates;
• hosting provider — solely to the extent necessary for the operation of the service.

Only the city name or the geographic coordinates required for a specific request are sent to Nominatim, timeapi.io and worldtimeapi.org. Names, email addresses, account identifiers, saved charts and journal entries are not shared with them.

Each of the services listed processes data solely to the extent necessary to perform its function.

9. Cross-border data transfers

Account data and saved charts are hosted on a server in Finland.

Certain services listed in section 8 may also process data on servers outside Ukraine.

By consenting to this Policy, the User agrees to the cross-border transfer of their personal data to such services to the extent necessary to provide the relevant service, in accordance with Article 29 of the Law of Ukraine "On Personal Data Protection".

10. Data retention

Account data is retained until the account is deleted by the User or until the Provider receives a corresponding request.

Astrological charts saved by the User are not deleted when the subscription expires. They are retained for as long as the account exists; however, access to them ceases together with the subscription and is restored upon purchase of a new subscription for the same account.

Charts and entries deleted by the User are marked as deleted and permanently erased from the server within 90 days. This delay is required for correct synchronisation between devices.

After an account is deleted, the associated personal data is deleted or anonymised, except for information the Provider is required to retain under the legislation of Ukraine.

Records of payments made are retained for the periods prescribed by the legislation of Ukraine.

11. Data security

The Provider applies reasonable organisational and technical measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, loss, disclosure or destruction.

Access to personal data is granted only to persons who require it to perform their duties or contractual obligations.

At the same time, no method of transmitting information over the internet or of electronic storage can guarantee absolute security.

12. User rights and account deletion

The User has the right to:

• obtain information about their personal data and the sources from which it was collected;
• obtain a copy of the personal data being processed;
• request the correction of inaccurate or outdated data;
• request the deletion of personal data in the cases provided for by law;
• withdraw consent to processing where such consent is the basis for it;
• lodge a complaint with the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights.

The account can be deleted by the User in the app’s Settings section or by contacting info@karunajyotish.com. Deleting the account also deletes the saved charts and entries stored on the server. Data remaining in the device’s memory is removed when the app is uninstalled.

Please note: a subscription purchased through the App Store or Google Play remains active after the account is deleted and continues to be charged. It must be cancelled by the User in the settings of the relevant store account.

13. Cookies

The website uses only strictly necessary technical cookies and localStorage, which provide for user authentication, session maintenance, storing language preferences and the correct operation of the website.

Visit statistics are collected from web server logs in anonymised form.

No advertising, marketing or third-party tracking cookies are used.

14. Analytics and advertising

The app does not display advertising and does not use third-party services for analysing User behaviour.

RevenueCat, Inc., which manages subscriptions, processes purchase information and the account identifier, including producing aggregate subscription statistics for the Provider. This data is used for subscription management and service development; it is not used to display advertising.

15. Age restrictions

Paid services — the subscription, the training course and personal consultations — are intended for persons aged 18 and over. Placing an order or purchasing a subscription by a person under 18 is not permitted.

The application is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from persons under 18. If a child's personal data has been provided to us without the consent of a parent or other legal guardian, please contact info@karunajyotish.com and such data will be deleted.

16. Changes to this Policy

The Provider may amend this Policy by publishing a new version on the website. The current version is always available at this address. A new version takes effect upon publication unless that version provides otherwise.
